What surveys are
Surveys let pod leaders ask their members structured questions — satisfaction checks, planning input, quick polls — and see the results in one place. They're lighter than governance proposals: no voting thresholds, no on-chain records, just a way to gather input.
Taking a survey (members)
- Open your pod's page. If there's an active survey for you, a survey banner appears near the top (with a clipboard icon).
- If there's one survey, click Respond. If there are several, the banner says how many are available — expand it and pick one.
- The survey opens right on the pod page: title, description, and the questions.
- Answer the questions. Required questions are marked with a red asterisk — you can't submit without them.
- Click Submit. You'll see a green "Response Submitted" confirmation.
Question types you might see:
- Single select — pick one option
- Multiple choice — check all that apply
- Free text — write your answer
- Rating scale — pick a number (1–5 or 1–10)
Things to know:
- One response per member. After you submit, the survey shows "Already Responded" — you can't edit or resubmit.
- Responses are attributed, not anonymous. Your response is tied to your wallet. Survey creators can read free-text answers individually, so write what you'd be comfortable signing your name to.
- Members don't see aggregate results in the app — the pod's leaders do, and they'll typically share outcomes back with the pod.
Creating a survey (pod leaders)
You need the survey management permission (leaders have it by default).
- Open your pod's Manage page and go to the Surveys tab.
- Click Create Survey.
- Fill in:
- Title (required) and an optional description
- Audience — which pod(s) receive the survey; your pod is pre-selected, and each shows its member count
- Start / end dates (optional) — for scheduling a response window
- Questions — add as many as you need; for each, set the text, type, options (for choice questions), scale (1–5 or 1–10 for ratings), and whether it's required. Reorder with the up/down arrows.
- Save. New surveys start as Draft — members can't see them yet.
- Click Activate when you're ready. The survey banner appears on the pod page for your audience.
- Click Close when you're done collecting responses, or Delete to remove the survey and all its responses (confirmation required — this can't be undone).
Reading results (creators)
In the Surveys tab, expand a survey to see:
- Total response count
- Choice questions: option counts with bar charts
- Rating questions: the average (e.g. "4.2 / 5") plus a distribution
- Free text: every individual answer, listed
Tip: since questions can't be edited after creation, preview your draft carefully before activating. If a question is wrong, delete the survey and recreate it before anyone responds.
