Weekly Online Gatherings
Every week, members join online for contemplation, discussion, and shared practice of the Eight Dignities. These sessions are the heartbeat of our community — open to all members regardless of location.
In-Person Retreats
We gather in person for immersive retreats designed to deepen practice and strengthen community bonds. We are actively seeking a permanent physical home to anchor these gatherings.
Collective Governance
Weekly DAO operations calls keep governance transparent and participatory. Members collaborate on proposals, coordinate pods, and vote on collective decisions — all recorded onchain and accessible to the community.
Community of Communities
SpiritDAO is a living network of spiritual communities united by the shared practice of the Eight Dignities. Each pod retains its unique expression, leadership, and traditions, while collaborating within a broader ecosystem of mutual support.
A Member Owned Community
SpiritDAO is organized into Pods — focused working groups that operate with their own governance, treasury, and membership. Each pod is a community within the community: autonomous enough to move fast, interconnected enough to advance the whole.
Pods form around shared purpose — a development team, a local geography, a specific Dignity initiative, or a creative project. They can nest hierarchically, with parent pods providing oversight and child pods executing on the ground.
Each pod manages its own members, proposes its own budgets, signs its own accountability agreements, and governs its own work — all transparently recorded onchain.
Decisions Belong to Everyone
Governance at SpiritDAO is not a committee — it is a practice. Any member can author a proposal. Voting rights are distributed via the role tokens, a system that assigns on-chain credentials based on pod membership and community standing.
Proposals span the full spectrum of community life: pod creation, treasury allocation, operational governance, events, and broader DAO direction. Votes are transparent, timestamped, and permanently verifiable.
An Executive Pod provides top-level stewardship and consists of our Board of Directors, while pod-level governance ensures that communities close to the work retain meaningful autonomy.
Work That Moves the Mission
The bounty system turns community priorities into open, paid opportunities. Members and pods post bounties for work they need done — development, design, research, writing, organizing. Anyone with the right credentials can create and bid.
Payments are structured transparently: an upfront amount upon assignment, a completion amount upon delivery, or milestone-based distributions. Funds are locked in escrow until work is approved by designated reviewers.
Bounties can be funded directly from a member's account (funded by their donations) or drawn from a pod treasury, creating a continuous loop between community priorities and community resources.
Participation and Reputation
Events in SpiritDAO are more than calendar entries. Each event can carry a token-gated access layer, and a completion credentials — a verifiable, onchain record that a member attended and participated.
Event registration fees flow into an escrow that distributes to the organizing pod or to the DAO treasury, depending on the event's configuration. Check-in is handled via QR code or direct entry and is recorded to the blockchain.
Over time, a member's collection of credentials becomes a living record of their participation — a spiritual portfolio built from presence.
Discourse Tied to Membership
Forums and chat are permissioned by pod membership and token holdings. If you are in a pod, you have access to that pod's forum threads and chat group. Moderation, polls, media, and reactions are built in.
Trained in SpiritDAO Operations & Community Knowledge
SensemakerAI is our in-house AI assistant, trained on the texts, governance documents, and knowledge base of the SpiritDAO community. It is available to members inside the app and to visitors on the public site.

SpiritDAO uses a multi-token system where different tokens represent different kinds of participation and permission.
$SYSTEM
SpiritDAO serves as a holding company for the fiat capital of our various communities. $SYSTEM is our internal token which is distributed on a 1:1 basis of capital held by the DAO. Members use it for events, artifacts, bounties, and pod support.
$SELF
The community's participation token. $SELF is time-bound, earned through engagement in accreditted SpiritDAO events. It may be spent within the ecosystem — events, bounties, exclusive artifacts and more.
Open to All
SpiritDAO is an open community — anyone is welcome to join. Once you're in, you can browse the communities (Pods) available in the ecosystem, apply to the ones that resonate with you, and go from there.
