SpiritDAO is free to use — and donor-funded to stay that way.
Most community platforms either charge members directly or monetize their data. SpiritDAO does neither. The full infrastructure — governance, pods, bounties, events, forums, token economy, and AI assistant — is available to every member and every community at no cost.
That model only works because people choose to support it. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 99-1308806), SpiritDAO is sustained by donations — not subscriptions, not venture capital, and not advertising. Every dollar goes directly toward keeping the platform operational and accessible, funding the programs that bring people together, and developing the educational resources our community creates and shares.
When you donate to SpiritDAO, you are not funding a corporation's growth targets. You are funding a commons — a shared infrastructure that communities own, govern, and benefit from together. You are helping ensure that the tools for self-sovereign community life remain open, independent, and available to anyone who wants them.
Two Ways to Give
→ Support our operations (donate below)
100% of form donations go to our Operations Pool, which funds community expenses, outreach, and the expansion of services offered to participating communities. Fully tax-deductible.
→ Fund a pod, event, artifact, or bounty
Ecosystem contributions are made through the SpiritDAO app, where your contribution is automatically split: 92% (minus processing fee) is returned to you as $SYSTEM tokens, which you distribute in-app to the people, pods, events, bounties, or artifacts you wish to support; 4% goes to the Operations Pool; 4% goes to the Community Fund.
Because $SYSTEM tokens are usable within the ecosystem, the IRS treats only the 8% charitable portion (4% Operations Pool + 4% Community Fund) as a deductible contribution. The remaining 92% is not tax-deductible. Consult your tax advisor for your specific situation.
