Inviting People to SpiritDAO
Last updated: 2026-07-23
One place to invite
Everything lives in a single Invite Friends panel on your Identity page. From there you can copy a link, email it, and — if you lead a pod — send an invite that automatically enrolls the person in that pod.
Two kinds of invite:
- App invite (anyone) — your personal link brings someone into SpiritDAO. They land in the app; they don't join any specific pod.
- Pod-enroll invite (pod leaders) — a link tied to a pod you lead. When they sign up, they join that pod automatically (no separate application).
Both credit you as the referrer. Nobody needs a code or invitation to join — the entry screen's main Enter SpiritDAO button works for everyone — but invitations make arriving smoother and connect newcomers to the person and community who welcomed them.
Using the Invite Friends panel
- Go to Identity (home screen → Identity card) and find Invite Friends.
- Choose who you're inviting them to:
- SpiritDAO (app access only) — your personal link. This is the default and is available to everyone.
- A pod you lead (auto-join) — pods you lead appear in the dropdown. Selecting one turns the link into a pod-enroll link, and a note confirms "This link auto-joins invitees to [pod]."
- Copy the link with the Copy link button — share it anywhere (text, chat, social).
- Or email it directly: enter one or more addresses (separate several with commas or new lines) and click Send invites. The email carries whichever link matches your selection.
Each person receives an email with a personal Get started link. When they click it, sign-up opens with your invitation already applied — there's no code for them to type. A pod-enroll invite additionally reads "…join [pod] on SpiritDAO."
Things to know:
- The email text is fixed — your name and pod are filled in, but the message itself can't be edited (this keeps invitations trustworthy and consistent).
- There's a limit of about 20 emailed invitations per member per day.
- People who are already members, or who were invited in the last 30 days, are skipped automatically — the results list tells you who and why.
- Only pods you lead offer the auto-join option. If you're a regular member of a pod, you can still invite people to SpiritDAO (the app link), but enrolling someone into a pod is a leader action.

Pod invite links, in depth (for pod leaders)
Whether you generate a pod-enroll link from your Identity page or from the pod's Manage page, it's the same mechanism — a shareable link that grants pod membership on acceptance. From the pod's Manage page you get extra controls:
- Open your pod's Manage page → Members tab → Invite Links section.
- Choose an expiration (7/30/90 days or never) and a use limit (or unlimited), then click Create invite link.
- Copy the link and share it anywhere — email, chat, social.
- Revoke a link at any time; it stops working immediately.
When someone accepts:
- They become a pod member right away. Chat, forum, events, surveys, and the knowledge base unlock the moment they arrive. New visitors go through normal sign-up first; existing members just get added. There's no application to approve — the invite is the approval.
- Eligibility still applies. If the pod's member role has requirements (for example, a community-token minimum), the link checks them — someone who doesn't qualify is told why. A link is an invitation, not an exemption.
- The on-chain role comes in a second step. Each acceptance is queued. As soon as someone joins, the pod's leaders receive a notification, and the Invite Links section shows "N new members awaiting on-chain role mint," listing each new member by name. One click on Mint Roles issues every queued role token in a single free (gasless) transaction. Members can use all the everyday pod features before this step; the on-chain token matters for treasury-level features.
- Links grant member roles only — leadership always goes through explicit approval.
Because leaders now get notified the moment someone joins, you don't have to keep checking the queue — but it's still good practice to mint promptly so new members' roles are finalized on-chain.

Your personal invite link
Your personal link is the same for every invite you send — it's built from your account and doesn't change. You'll find it (and the Copy button) at the top of the Invite Friends panel on your Identity page whenever "SpiritDAO (app access only)" is selected.
